The third official colorway of Kyrie Irving‘s first signature shoe, Black History Month is represented by a pattern ridden white and black aesthetic. The tongue features a geometric crown in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King JR, while the sharp, angular heel is littered with a pattern heavy construction. Even the Swoosh features geometric call-outs while white Hyperfuse rounds things out.
The 2015 Nike BHM Collection celebrates Black History Month with a collection of products across different sports that honors six athletes and coaches who have positively impacted sport with their courage and determination: Theotis Beasley, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Jerry Rice, Brianna Rollins, C. Vivian Stringer and John Thompson. The Kobe 9 Elite follows the black and white palette with a monochromatic appearance across the entire shoe. The Flyknit upper is split into two halves, with the lateral side featuring a mostly black look, and the medial side a mostly white look.
